Been driving trucks for over a decade now, and this Antos model is alright for what it is. The new chassis with wider track actually makes a difference, especially when you’re doing city deliveries and need to turn sharp. I like the air suspension at the back, doesn't smack you around every bump. Cab layout is logical, I found controls easy to get used to. I do wish Mercedes included some of the little comfort features as standard though, like the bunk-you gotta pay extra for that. Engine's quiet enough, but the AdBlue thing is a bit more hassle than with my old rig. Service intervals have been reasonable so far. It's not a cheap truck, but you do get a sense of solidity and it just feels sorted on the road.

I’ve had to run an Antos for distribution around the city and honestly, it’s not flashy but it’s super easy to drive. That steering is light, almost too light sometimes, took me a couple days to get used to it. Visibility’s good, mirrors do the job. Loading and unloading isn’t a hassle, doors open wide and the access steps are solid. Not much more to say. Just wish the price tag wasn’t as high - could be more affordable. Never had a breakdown though, papers always in order, so reliability checks out.

Honestly wasn’t sure about the Antos at first, since I used to drive older Axors. The transmission is real smooth though, especially that 12-speed PowerShift version. You shove it into D and most of the time just let it do its thing. Took maybe a day or two to get used to the selector on the steering column, that was a bit weird at first. It has these different drive modes, and the eco mode really saves diesel if you remember to switch it in time. Space inside is OK, I’ve got the medium cab, but don’t expect to nap inside, it’s not that kind of cabin. Maintenance stuff hasn’t come up yet, fingers crossed it stays that way. If you just want a city/distribution hauler with little fuss, Antos is pretty solid.

Took Antos out on the highway and a bit of city stuff - the engine is pretty peppy, never felt underpowered, even going up hills with a full load. Cruise control on the motorway works like a charm. The cabin’s got loads of places for putting your things, like bottles, documents, whatever. Only gripe I’ve got is the day cab version gets tight if you’re tall or like to stretch out, not much headroom in the low cab. Didn’t notice much rattling or noise - a plus, but the engine tunnel sticks up a bit, not the flat floor I’m used to in other trucks. Still, driving it is simple. Would have to see how it holds up after a year, but for now I’m pretty happy with how easy it is to run.

Drove the Volumer version for a month on retail stuff - that's the one with the taller interior and lower loading sill. Tossing in big pallets is so much easier, and unloading is a bit less of a grind on your back. Not the flashiest looking, looks like a cube on wheels, but that's the job. Engine is strong enough, I had the 10.7L unit, pulls alright, though the gearbox sometimes feels like it's thinking too much before shifting. No major issues, runs fine day in, day out. Inside, I wish the cab had a bit more ventilation, got hot in the summer when stuck in traffic. Can't say anything really broke, reliability's decent, just a couple of minor electric glitches with the dash, sorted fast by service. Decent lorry, does the job without drama.
